Scientists from the University of Copenhagen tested the healing properties of African tea on mice with diabetes. As a result, after six weeks, it became clear that the mice changed the composition of adipose tissue around the eyes, and increased protection of cells of the pancreas.
Later, a similar study was carried out involving 23 volunteer patients with type II diabetes. Each day, participants drank 750 ml of African tea. After four months of such treatment in the studied significantly increased tolerance to glucose.
This kind of treatment is different from the others in that the tea did not initially affect the level of sugar in the blood. However, it affects the growth of polyunsaturated fatty acids, which in turn increases the permeability of cells and improves the absorption of glucose in the blood.
